The moon - The shadows of the city have disappeared
Keijû was born in Wakayama prefecture. When he was twenty years old, he was forced to join the army and fight the Russians. In 1914 he went to the Kinkaku-ji, the Golden Temple in Kyoto, where he became a pupil of Dokuzan Gengi (1869-1938). He became a priest and succeeded Dokuzan in 1922 as the head abbot of the Kinkaku-ji. Keijû was a gifted calligrapher.
