Manshû was born in Kyoto. He studied with Yamamoto Shunkyo (# 62). He exhibited at the Bunten and was a member of the jury at the Teiten. Manshû was a delicate painter, less known now but still one of the better-known painters from the early 20th century in Kyoto.
